Having learned her lesson the day before when she almost spilled out of her skimpy bikini, the singer opted for a more secure style on Saturday as she relaxed by a pool with friends in the sweltering Miami heat.
Instead, Christina, 31, chose a mint green one-shoulder swimsuit with a sturdy bodice and secure ties that offered no risk of a potential fashion trauma.
Just to make sure nothing went wrong, she kept her cut-off denim shorts with gold studded stars firmly on for most of the day in the sun.
Proving she is still a hip hop star at heart despite her recent job on network television, Milian carried a brassy gold pair of lace-up sandals that would have better matched one of her stage outfits.
The Us Against The World singer completed the statement look with a flash of bright red hair tied in a bun, a black leather bag and gold-emblazoned sunglasses.
After recently wrapping up the latest season of NBC’s singing competition The Voice, Christina is taking a well deserved break in Miami’s trendy South Beach.
Even with temperatures reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit and 100 per cent humidity, she was happy spend the day lazing on plastic loungers with a big group of friends.
Rather than fruity cocktails or healthy water, the pals choice to drink Red Bull and left cans scattered around the sun deck.
As The Voice’s Social Media Correspondent, Christina naturally is an avid Twitter user and made sure to share holiday snaps with fans.
However, by Saturday afternoon storm clouds were brewing over the Florida city and she posted an Instagram video of the ominous scene, writing: ‘South Beach is trying to keep us here with this.’
‘What’s up guys?!!!! XoXo.. Who’s in Miami?’ she asked her 982,000 followers earlier in the day.
The star recently said she felt she had learned a lot from her stint on the fourth season of The Voice, which was won by Danielle Bradbery.
‘I feel like what’s changed for me as an artist is that I feel that I’m soaking it in. I’m also a learner,’ Christina told The Examiner.
‘I’m like a child learning all over again. It’s great because it just reinstalls that passion that I had from when I was younger and so it just excites me.
‘I already know what the fans and the people that are watching the show want to see; like the big performances that are put together- and I think imagine when it’s my turn! (Laughs) I want everything!’ she went on to say.
